What does it matter...?

The noise and the chatter
It seems that life would rather
Just not matter

Whether you're thin or fatter
The pitcher or the batter
Either way, it does not matter

The present a wrapper
Creating the clatter
Of dreams, that do not matter

New life only sadder
The pitter patter
Hopes a splatter
Rationale made of matter
That does not matter

An illusion made by the mapper
A life in the crapper
The prim and the dapper
Simply do not matter

All frames can shatter
On a life that does not matter.

Snake Charmer

Snake Charmer, Snake Charmer
The way to win you is with no armor
Though he has locked me in the tower
My heart is gold my looks are dower
No need to gloat or become the growler
To act as thieves, a lowly prowler
Snake Charmer, Snake Charmer
The way to win you is with no armor
His charm has now become sour
For I'm the beauty, I'm the flower

And with this knowledge is the power
My minutes now have become hours
It is me who is the tower
It is me who holds the power
Snake Charmer, Snake Charmer
The way to win you is with no armor

I don't want to be right...

I don't want to be the martyr and the dunce
I'm so tired of being right, can't I be wrong just this once
I want to be the one with the hard choice between wrong and more wrong
And in the meantime be free all along, and then gets to sing the swan song
But no, I'm right, which means I'm the one who is apologized to
For all the wrong doing that they do
I'm the one who invests my entire treasure chest
To someone who admits they can't or won't give their best
This is not an admirable spot to be in
The bright eyed loser who believed in
A source that couldn't help but be wrong
And who willingly agrees, I was right all along

Ouch...

I knew that what we had just didn't sit
I knew it would hurt and I waited for it
But he was what I needed for the time being
He made sense as to whom I should be seeing
But now he doesn't make sense anymore
It just doesn't make sense to not offer more
So goodbye, but I must admit
It was really him that ended it...
Ouch.

Disappointment...

There is so much  emotion that is felt with disappointment
You trusted, showered with anointment
But then you realized stupidly
That they would have the audacity
To blind you
Undermine you
And so your heart begins to bleed
Hoping they would at least want forgiveness for the deed
But instead they create their own cut

Conjugated from a newfound nut
And to protect from disappointments that are sure to ensue
You learn to trust only you
And only give credit when it's due

The Ending is Near...

You saw the ending, through foggy and gray,
but just knew that love would push the fog away.
And suddenly, you would see the sun that was temporarily hidden,
by the pieces of the puzzle that just weren’t fitting.
But as time went by and the end became near,
the storm, the clouds never did clear.
And the fear you thought would just disappear
has been realized, and is finally here.
Hauntingly, the lightning smiles at you through a thundering jeer,
and the clouds remain a foreboding smear.

Return of the Straight Line...

We walked a thin straight line although the future was wide
Multiplication made sense, but we were taught to divide
Stay on the boat the waves weren’t to ride
Forbidden thoughts were better to hide

But soon we swayed off the narrow path and the line grew wider
What was once in darkness soon became lighter
The passenger now the driver
More than apple in the cider

The path soon began to sway
Twists and turns to our dismay
The sun had more than one ray
The moon our favorite time to play
Different faces as we lay
So much more within a day
That our straight line could merely decay

But thoughts of our straight line would stay in our mine
Our time of bliss, love was sublime
Life had rhythm and life had rhyme
It was built on the divine

It was the chaos that opened our eyes
The truth smothered in the lies
The laughter muffled by the cries
Hope outweighed by the sighs
And so the watched became the spies

And we were strict, and we were stern
And we would teach so we could earn
Our once lost straight line to return
To save the others from the burn
We tied our line around our urn
As our mark for lessons learned
And for those to seek as they took their turn.
